Residents ask to be ridiculed with a more contemporary reference

Once famously derided by President George W. Bush as “a bunch of Marin hot-tubbers,” residents of the region will soon be mocked nationwide with a more current epithet. “It’s true that people in Marin County were once obsessed with Jacuzzis, along with the partner-swapping action that entails,” said the county’s head of public relations. “But we are now into simulated hypothermia, and prefer to be associated with that dubious wellness trend.” She asked that everyone simply update their list of clichés about Marin, so that its people can be written off more accurately.
