Influencer now asking random people if he can see their apartment
“Excuse me – do you live here in the great city of San Francisco?”
“How much do you pay for rent?”
“Can I see your apartment?”

San Franciscans say they’ve been startled by a thin man in a dark suit who approaches them on the street, asks them intrusive questions on camera and all but demands to “check out their space.”
Identified as Daniel Lurie, the influencer is known for his viral videos highlighting local businesses, though he’s recently pivoted to “home tour” content. “At first it was kind of flattering,” said one citizen who opened her doors to Lurie. “He complimented my crown moulding. But then he wanted to know how much safer my neighborhood has gotten since January 2025.”
Reached for comment, Lurie described the incident as a “dope collab” and that his critics “have like, no followers.” But he said inviting himself into personal residences was just one part of his social media strategy. “Let me ask you a question,” he said to this reporter, hitting record on his camera. “What makes you so confident?”
