It’s not clear whether the author was aware that exclamation points are highly transmissible, but her actions not only prompted the respondent to reply in kind, but to deploy the punctuation mark across several ensuing work emails. The outbreak rapidly spread through global networks, which are now contaminated with dangerously over-accentuated communications. Authorities are now urging restraint!!!
