We’ll never forget where we were on 9/11 (2024), which was in our room already trying on outfits for the first-ever Marin Fashion Night. That unforgettable evening took place one respectful month later in dress-to-impress Sausalito, and proved to the world once and for all that Marin cannot be counted among the residential areas that do not have a dedicated event of this nature.

Flash forward to today, and there’s an air of inevitability to the spectacle and its perspective on mid-life suburban pizzazz. One instinctively feels the date approaching on the fall calendar, and indeed it is almost here; those hoping to be in attendance only have until October 3rd to find a fun top to wear at the Marin Art and Garden Center. Yes the party is coming back to Ross for the second year running.

You may be wondering then, why we aren't going to be in the front row this year, even with tickets at the coveted “Runway Rockstar” tier still widely available at early-bird prices? We can assure you that it has nothing to do with the Middle East, and the organizers' stance on that region, or lack thereof. Nor are we protesting the show’s refusal to include artisan Gene Hortman and the wonderful socks he’s been knitting in Bolinas since 1987. In the end, our absence at Marin Fashion Night comes down to a simple scheduling conflict, as we’ve already reserved that day for "Acoustic Weekends at the Village at Corte Madera," a musical performance at our home mall that we never miss. Just thought you should know we can't make it, but hope you guys have a blast at what's shaping up to be an awesome event!
